Promoting Sustained Practices for Effective and Equitable Education

What’s a sustained practice?

A sustained practice is implemented consistently and comprehensively over time.

Sustained effective practices maximize education outcomes. Yet, research is clear that practices are not regularly sustained in schools, wasting resources and limiting student gains.

By deliberately supporting sustainment of effective practices, schools can capitalize on current efforts, increase efficiency, and improve outcomes.

What Guides Us.

To improve student outcomes, we need to sustain practices by attending to the process and context of implementation.

Our Book.

This book gives practitioners a research-based framework for working with PreK–12 educators to support the effective delivery of academic, behavioral, and social–emotional interventions. Step-by-step procedures are presented for assessing existing implementation efforts and using a menu of support strategies to promote intervention fidelity.
