Our Goals
How we aim to contribute to sustained practice in schools.
Collaborate
Collaborate with scholars, educators, and partners to identify and utilize effective scientific methods, field-based practices, and policies to accelerate advances in sustaining effective practices in education.
We will accelerate advances in sustaining effective practices in education by:
developing cross-disciplinary collaborations to identify, adapt, and evaluate effective theories, frameworks, models, and practices from related fields;
cultivating partnerships with field-based innovators to identify facilitators and barriers to scaling and sustaining innovative practices and policies; and
hosting interdisciplinary forums to identify vexing problems and possible solutions related to sustained effective practices in schools.
Research
Conduct and disseminate interdisciplinary, policy- and practice-relevant research to create new scientific knowledge to increase sustained, effective, equitable, and scalable practices in education
We will engage in innovative research that accelerates evidence about sustained, effective, equitable, and scalable practices for all students and educators, by:
providing a forum for interdisciplinary researchers interested in advancing sustained practice in schools;
engaging in a wide range of research activities and methods including local demonstration projects, large empirical studies, qualitative inquiry, and dataset analyses to inform sustained practices in schools; and
actively disseminating scholarship to advance science.
Share
Share knowledge and resources related to sustaining effective practices in schools with partners to inform policy, practice, and research
We will share what we learn about sustained, effective, equitable, and scalable practices by:
targeting information to meet the unique needs of varied audiences (e.g., practitioners, scholars, students, community members, policymakers);
sharing via varied in-person and digital platforms (e.g., online repository, social media, continuing education courses); and
providing high-quality technical assistance to schools and agencies.
